Box looked a little shabby on arrival. Almost looked like it was opened and taped back carelessly. I opened it and it was a styrofoam nightmare. Some of it was taped together some was extremely thin. So after unboxing I lay all the styrofoam back in the box, which now won’t close. The guys who packaged this had to take a course or watch a movie to put all the styrofoam in. I move it towards the door in another room ready to trash it. I know from experience not to throw boxes or UPC away till I’m certain I’m satisfied. There’s one sheet of paper with a parts list on one side and an assembly diagram on the other. I do a quick read and I’m instantly aggravated for a couple reasons. One, the parts list is so faded, like the ink was out when printed, I can’t make out how many of what is supposed to be in the box AND, it says, ( you ready?) “if for any reason you need to return this item, you must return it in its original packing, assembled items cannot be returned “. So, first of all, I can’t verify what I’m supposed to have and, I’ve assembled things before and I know if there’s a missing part, this thing is not going together. So, I’m looking for something that says something like, PLEASE DO NOT RETURN THIS IF SOMETHING IS MISSING, PLEASE CALL FIRST AND WE WILL SEND IT TO YOU. It doesn’t say that.So now, I’m trying to interpret exactly what, returned in original packaging means. Does it mean I must figure out exactly where all those pieces of styrofoam were precisely? Or just get them in the box anyway I can? Or, the original exterior packaging is sufficient? I won’t say the word im feeling for risk of my review being nixed. so, I figured my best scenario is everything is there and undamaged. It was very easy to put together and I had all the parts. but I can see someone without mechanical aptitude making a couple mistakes. There’s 12 plastic washers and one side is flat, one side has a circular indentation. The circular side of course goes to the circular tube, which the instructions does not tell you, but, it would probably go together anyway. Simple to me but maybe not to some. They could spring for a little more ink and tell you this. Also, the bottom glass is frosted. It doesn’t tell you which side is up or down. Some may not know this. Maybe they won’t even know or care. I do. All that said, it’s a nice table. I like it but be aware of what I call, unclear return policy. Do yourself a favor and take pictures as you remove the packaging in case you need to repackage it. They may or may not refund your money otherwise. If you’re still reading, I bought this to replace a 42. X 42 double decker glass table I got from Scandinavia furniture over a decade ago. I wanted to free up space and that it does. Thanks and good luck!
