Great product, just wish it came in two shelves vs three. This is way better than the shelving units that sit on top of the piping. The pipes in this product actually goes through the planks, giving it a more minimalistic feel/look.We purchased a while ago thinking once our family room make over was done we would assemble a bar. Well I do not see how you can assemble these to where are fitting tightly into one another. Great concept but leaves little room for perfection.Using two Design A and two Design B kits, we made one 3-layer shelf (modeled primarily after Design A) using 9 pairs of pipe brackets. Design B's components were used to extend the pipes so that all flanges attached to ceiling joists. We did not use the short fasteners included with the kit (not sure how the vendor expects proper embedded depth with those) and instead used longer wood screws to ensure appropriate embedded depth into ceiling joists. You could build this shelf with pipe from a home store, but we like the slightly lighter weight and cleanly powder materials. It was frustrating that some of the pipes and fittings were effectively "glued" together and some threads unnecessarily coated (by apparently careless application of the powder coating by the manufacturer) however with 4 kits we were able to salvage the necessary pieces. With some planning and effort we ended up with a great, sturdy ceiling-mount shelf. This hardware is sturdy and as you can see allows for a substantial shelving unit in our kitchen. It could only be better if it allowed for thicker shelving but for the size of the pipe it’s understandable. There is very little wobble in it, but there is some. It must be securely mounted - don’t cut corners there or you’ll have a disaster. We hired someone to properly install it with heavy duty hardware behind the ceiling and into a beam as well. This is a great option for a space that you want to keep "light". I get a lot of natural light in this area and didn't' want to block the window but needed shelves. The parts might need some filing to make sure they end up flush against the shelves took out the long section and will use that for another shelf. Be sure to measure the area you need it for..this is a pretty long shelf. This product is just not worth it. A simple design becomes the most complex due to a lack of instructions. (They have them, but they aren't correct (down to calling two pieces "E" although they mean one of the pieces is "F") The treads don't match, and putting it together comes with just trial and error, leading to frustrating results. Will be returning although I like the product, I just cannot figure out how to assemble it.When using iron pipes always wear gloves (thick gloves) the threads will cut into you. Measure spaces for wood shelving. Width wise. Buy a long piece of board from home depot and have them cut the lengths you want. Savea slot of time. Then do a sanding, wet towel wipe. And stain them however you want. Add poly to keep them pretty longer and beaides mounting the pipes your good. Can even sand the pipes and repaint into colors you want. Just did some for my wife. Sometimes some titelock really helps keep it from moving.Despite the assembly being intuitive and simple, some instructions would have been nice. There was a little trial and error involved. Overall a good experience. The rods are impossible to align. Rod sizes are uneven and the groves are also. Had to take them to get adjusted I order to make straight shelves. Should have simply bought pipes and had them cut. Would have been easier and definitely less frustrating.Très beau style industriel, solide ensemble pour tablettes à installer au plafond. Parfait pour les plantes devant une fenêtre. Un peu dispendieux cependant.Great product. Looks really nice and is pretty sturdyThese are totally impossible to install. The rods are of different lengths, the grooves are also and the pieces just don’t fit together straight. Total disappointment.
